Health

In health, we are learning about wellbeing, aka Hauora. Hauora is the 4 walls to our wellbeing, kinda like a whare, the walls being mental/emotional wellbeing, social wellbeing, spiritual wellbeing, and physical well being. Our main focus so far being spiritual wellbeing (Taha Wairoa), Meaning its basically who we are as a person, eg our beliefs, morals, views of life, values, traditions, culture, attitude, goals, the way you live, etc. So far, I have learnt that Taha Wairoa is not just about one's beliefs, or their purpose, its about their identity, and what makes them, well, them. We have also learnt about our own personal identity, and our values, and what they mean.

Values quiz:

FROM THE VALUES YOU CHOSE, WRITE ABOUT TWO THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO WORK ON
WHAT BEHAVIOURS OR ACTIONS ARE YOU ALREADY DOING THAT SUPPORT THIS VALUE
WHAT COULD YOU STOP DOING/CHANGE TO BETTER SUPPORT THIS VALUE
WHAT COULD YOU START DOING TO BETTER SUPPORT THIS VALUE
caring
Being the best friend I can possibly be
Stop shutting people out
Care about everyone, not just my friends
courage
Standing up to those higher than me
Learn to gain more confidence
Teach me to gain more courage

FROM THE VALUES YOU CHOSE, WRITE ABOUT THE TWO THAT ARE MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU
WHY IS THIS VALUE IMPORTANT TO YOU?
RECALL A MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE WHEN YOU REALLY ‘LIVED’ THIS VALUE.
IF THIS VALUE IS NOT BEING RESPECTED BY OTHERS, HOW MIGHT YOU FEEL OR REACT?
friendship
Because my friends are the most important people in my life
I've been ‘living’ this value for nearly 3 years now since I have built my friendship with a specific person
If it is not being felt by others, I will try to help people feel this value
Trust
Because of my fear of betrayal, I deem it important to build a strong trust between my pairs
There hasn’t really been a time in my life where I lived this value that I can recall
If trust is not being felt, I would most likely avoid the person, cause I know they might fear me

Supergirl

A message from Supergirl, welcome to earth is do not judge a person by their background, or where they come from. This is because if we judge someone by their background, we easily get mislead, and make the wrong assumptions about a person. We saw this in the scene where Supergirl captured the daxamite Mo-El, where he was accused of an assassination attempt on the president, just because he was from Daxam, this was later proven to be false. I think it is important to get to know a person before judging them, because that way, we can understand their situation, and if they are truly like the rest of their people. It makes me think about how misjudged people are in the real world, especially immigrants, and foreigners. In an ideal world, nobody is judged, people get to know others before they are judged, and people get along better than people currently do.
