Supergirl

A message from Supergirl, welcome to earth is do not judge a person by their background, or where they come from. This is because if we judge someone by their background, we easily get mislead, and make the wrong assumptions about a person. We saw this in the scene where Supergirl captured the daxamite Mo-El, where he was accused of an assassination attempt on the president, just because he was from Daxam, this was later proven to be false. I think it is important to get to know a person before judging them, because that way, we can understand their situation, and if they are truly like the rest of their people. It makes me think about how misjudged people are in the real world, especially immigrants, and foreigners. In an ideal world, nobody is judged, people get to know others before they are judged, and people get along better than people currently do.

two worlds, one family.
what does 'two worlds, one family' mean? To me, it means that no matter where you go, even if it is another city, or another country, you will always belong to one family, no matter what. Everyone belongs to one family, even if said family is not biological, and nobody can change that fact. So embrace those who you truly belong with, and do not let anyone try and change that.
Two messages from the movie 'Tarzan':
A message from the movie Tarzan is that there is more than one way of life, understand it before truly judging it. This is because the understanding of the ways different people [in this case, animals] live, and the changes they face as they are faced with an ‘assassination attempt’. I saw this in the scene where Clayton is first seen in the forest, with Jane and her father, and Clayton is shooting down all animals he sees, without trying to understand them. This is also shown in the scene where Kerchak first meets Tarzan, whilst Tarzan is a young baby, Kerchak says ‘he doesn’t belong, all because of his lack of hair/fur’, although that is later proven to be false. It makes me think about how much people are misjudged in the real world, especially those who are Indian/ pakistani/ Asian, etc. Society is well known for judging those who don't look like them, even though we are all of the same species, people refuse to understand different cultures, and push those that are not like them aside to rot. In an ideal world, everybody gets along, both humans and animals, people of different cultures are living in harmony, judgement is a lot less than it is today, and even though we are of different cultures, we are all the same.
A message from the movie Tarzan is that you can be apart of many different cultures, but you belong to one true family. This is because of the life of Tarzan, how he is human, but his one true family is with the Gorillas. I saw this throughout the entire movie, were Tarzan starts of as a human child, living with people, that is until they are killed. He is adopted by Kala, a Gorilla who had recently before lost her son. Tarzan thrives to be one with the Gorillas, but when he meets Jane, her father, and Clayton, he begins to become one with their culture, all while still staying to the fact that his one true home is with the Gorillas in the forest. It makes me think about how people are discouraged into staying with a certain culture, becoming one of them, when people have a true family to look after, even if it isn't biological.

have a merry kitty christmas
They were ornaments, but not to the eyes of 'the beast', to him, they were human, and ready to be destroyed. His paws thundered across the ground, shaking the tiny town. He let out a mighty roar, and paused right in front of the town, eyes fixated on the criminal himself, Santa Clause. The beast, known only as Kemono, glared at him with unusually round, wide eyes. Thoughts flashed through Kemono's mind, he know what he was to do was irreversible, but it had to be done, he not only stole master's attention, but he also took away his precious milk, his favourite thing in the castle. Yes, Kemono was a cat, he was a Russian blue x Persian, and was a very feisty young man.
He glared at the still thing, letting out another might roar, which just happened to be a small mew, before swatting at the houses with his front paw. Raising the other paw, claws unsheathed, he swatted at the still Santa, breaking him instantly. "A body has been discovered!" The voice of a female called out, followed by the laugh of a male. "Oh no, we must begin the class trial." The male chuckled, a sarcastic tone to his deep voice. "Who killed Santa Clause?" The female asked sarcastically, knowing the culprit was the beast Kemono. "I don't know Hanahaki, but i have a feeling i know who it is." The male replied, looking straight at the cat, who sat there and mewed innocently. "Haha, I also think i know too." Hanahaki chuckled, picking up the fur ball. "It was Kemono!" The male announced, gasping dramatically, pretending to faint onto the small black couch.
"You are so stupid sometimes, ya know that?" Hanahaki grinned, running her hand through the males hair, causing his already rosy cheeks to be tainted red. "Tch, you don't have to tell me twice." The boy huffed, puffing up his cheeks. Kemono mewed as he lay on the males chest, licking his chin. "Well isn't that a cute, huh Tsuki?" Hanahaki laughed a little. Tsuki fixed up his jacket, which was black with a galaxy like setting on it, and looked away. "Aww, you're so cute Tsuki, I love you." Hanahaki kissed her boyfriend's forehead, grinning as she picked up Kemono and held him in her arms. "Hmph, I love you too, Hanahaki." Tsuki smiled a little. Kemono mewed once again, trying to signalise that he wanted his precious milk, now that the milk snatcher was dead. "Haha, okay Kemono, don't nag, don't nag." Hanahaki chuckled before walking into the kitchen to satisfy her little criminal.

Film studies
in English, we are learning to think critically to identify and describe the key aspects of a visual text.
we watched the movie 'hunt for the wilder people', and now we are doing our own learning on it. we were given 4 'must do' tasks, and 8 'can do' tasks, and i personally have done 2 must do tasks and 4 can do tasks. the can-do tasks include research and questions about Aunt Bella, Officer Andy, Psycho Sam, and Ricky Baker. The must-do tasks include film techniques, and one theme, the theme i chose being Symbols. The only must-do task i am yet to complete is 'critical thinking for film study', basically a bunch of questions about film study and all that, sounds simple, but it really isn't, some questions are pretty hard to answer. Once that is complete, all of 9bu, myself included, will have to write an essay, which i'm ready and prepared for. I personally have enjoyed this topic so far, and i'm ready for what will happen next in English.

english-learning from a country of choice
In English, we have been doing learning from a country of our choice, and my pick: Scotland! I chose Scotland as it is a sort of "country of origin" in my life, as much of my descent is from Scotland. the tale I've read is titled "The Death Bree", by author Jeremiah Curtin. I decided to do a story map about the story, which I'll show below:
What was the purpose of the text: I believe it was to show that good always comes to those who follow rules and instructions.
why do you think the author wrote the story: To teach a life lesson.
what is the author trying to explain: That listening to those around us can do us good.
what did the characters learn: The bree learned that the woman could be trusted, and the woman learned that the rumours she heard were true.
why do you think the story came into existence: to teach a life lesson.
what did i learn about scotland from reading the story: that they believed that skulls helped cure diseases.
I found this story to be interesting, and i liked reading it.

The Most Traditional Of Tales
throughout the past few weeks in English, specifically weeks 4 and 5, 9 bu, myself included, have been working on creations based off of fairy tales, fables, legends and myths. This week, I have made 2 different creations, one about Greek myths, and one about the Aesop fable "the fox and the crow." The Greek myths creation was a paining of the Greek zodiacs, the 12 we all know today, as i read the myths about each and every one of them. My favorite being the myth of Taurus, also known as the bull, and my starsign; Which is about a large, powerful bull {with anger issues}, and Persephone, goddess of spring. The bull goes rampaging through a field of flowers, only to meet Persephone, whom teaches him kindness and consideration, and together, the pair form a bond. Because of the large bond, Persephone begins to ride the bull into markets, making all the flowers bloom; and when she goes back to Hades in the underworld, the bull goes back into the stars as Taurus, the bull. Following that, i made a scene out of clay from the Aesop fable "the fox and the crow, which is about a very hungry fox, and a crow, who is in a tree, a piece of cheese in her beak. The fox, thinking up a quick idea, walks to the tree, and begins to praise the beauty of the crow, making her let out a thankful caw, but the cheese fell out of her beak and into the fox's jaws, and the fox walks out, having eaten, leaving the crow with no food to eat. Together, both projects have taken me around 3-4 periods to do, as well as about 2 hours of at home work, mainly for planning these out, including 1 period total to do the reading of everything, and 2 periods for the actual making itself, but in the end, its been worth the time. I have enjoyed creating these projects, although some of them have been quite time consuming. I have done a couple of other projects, but these 2 are the 2 i'm most proud of, so i prefer to talk about them the most. Throughout these stories, I've learnt many things, like in Greece, there is always a Greek god associated with the legends of my zodiac signs e.c.t. These stories I've read over the weeks have taught me A lot about different countries, such as Greece and Scotland. What do i think the purposes of each story is? Well, i think the purpose for the legends about the zodiacs signs are to teach us about the wonder and mystery of the zodiacs, and how they came to be, where as for the fox and the crow, i think that the purpose is to teach us to not be easily manipulated by those around us, as you never know when they are lying to us.
here are a few photos from the fox and the crow work:
unfortunately, i have no photos of the Greek Zodiacs painting.

Curiosity topic #5
Should children under the age of 18 really be playing Danganronpa?
Firstly, what in the world is a Danganronpa?
Danganronpa is a video game series based in Japan, the first of the games: trigger happy havoc, was released in 2010, and the latest, killing harmony, was released in 2017. Danganronpa is a currently very popular game series, and its earning big money for team danganronpa, the creators of the franchise. The Danganronpa games involve 16 students, each with ultimate talents, e.g Entomologist, baseball player, fanfic writer, detective, pianist, e.c.t, and these 16 students are in a killing game, and one by one, these children die, either from murder of execution, except for a few who survive. The games locations are a school, ruled by the headmaster and creator of the killing game, Monokuma, a robotic teddy bear with one side of his face looking sweet and innocent, where as the other looks cruel and evil. The themes in Danganronpa include murder, blood, execution, as well as the few sexual themes. As well as the game, danganronpa also has a few mangas and animes created including the themes previously said. Danganronpa is a great game series in my opinion, but should children under the age of 18 really be playing these games? My answer: no. Why? The themes involved with these games can traumitize children and make them not want to come to school in the gear someone is trying to kill them. It can be especially traumitzing to those who are sensitive when it comes to murder, as there is a lot of murder involved with the games. It may be alright for those who are mature and can deal with these types of things, but its best to not take a risk.
So, should children under the age of 18 be playing Danganronpa? No, no they should not.

static image
In English with ms mclaren,we have been creating static images based around the book by the name of "abomination". These static images have to have a quote from the book. As well as the static image,we had to write a commentary about it. Heres my commentary:
Static Image Commentary My static image portrays the idea that:Martha Dewhurst is different from everybody else, she belongs to a religion, the righteous, therefore, she finds that connecting with others is against the rules of the righteous. I have shown this by:Using the caption that shows Martha telling scott,Somebody who doesn’t believe in the righteous, but soon befriends Martha, that connecting with outsiders is a bad idea,as her secret, the fact that there is a little boy stuck in a cage, could be released. The visual elements I have used include:An open book, representing Martha’s story about her life and the problems she faced throughout it.Inside the open book is a silhouette of a girl holding a bible on one side, representing martha and her strong belief in the righteous,A religious group that strongly believes in christianity, hence she is holding a bible. On the other side is a silhouette of a boy, representing scott,a boy who bullied martha, until realising it was wrong,so he started sticking up for her, causing him to be bullied to. Scott then tries to befriend martha, despide her doubts and warnings. I have used the colour (s)black, white, red and pink,as they represent the black bible and people represent Scott,as he is not apart of the righteous, was full of “darkness”,and his communication with martha was containing her in this darkness, causing her to do things that are not apart of the rules of the righteous. The red text represents her fear that the secret would be released if she befriended scott, which which would cause hell to spread through her family. The white background represents the purity martha and her family have, through their connection and believes with the righteous. The pink outermost background represents the love that martha starts feeling for scott. The quotation I have chosen are relevant because It expresses Martha's concern she has for scott and his constant connecting with Martha,as she fears that her parents and the righteous will find out.
I enjoyed writing the abomination commentary, and I hope to write another one of these soon. I am going to end this post with a photo of my static image:

curiosity topic #3
I wonder...
I wonder why people were so afraid of plague doctors during times of plague?
Plague doctors, nightmarish bird men with wings of black and beaked faces of white, they roamed the streets during times of plague, going to people's homes and trying to cure them of plague and disease, but why were people so afraid of them if they were to cure, not kill? Well, firstly, lets look at their outfit, what they wore when they roamed the plague infested streets. Plague doctors typically wore large, black, baggy robes they covered their entire body, arms and legs, they also wore gloves, boots, and a hit,all of which were black. They also wore probably the most well known feature of them, the mask, the white, beaked mask that covered their entire face. They also carried a cane with them,so they wouldn't have the risk of getting plague themselves. Plague doctors are well known, and are mainly recognisable because of those masks. How does their outfit have to do with why they are feared? Well, the outfit usually brought fear to those the plague doctors went to visit, they thought of the doctors as creepy, and frightening, like a living nightmare. But that's not all as to why they are feared, what they are known for was also frightening. They were known as being death bringers, carriers of plague, some even call them 'son of the reaper himself', They were mainly hired to count the number of dead and not actually cure plague, however. Now,how do i feel about plague doctors,am i scared of them? I have to say,i'm not scared of them,i actually really like plague doctors, they interest me,and i really like learning about them and researching them. I find plague doctors to be mysterious men who just want to rid the world of plague, and i just typically like them. Now,the big question, why were people so afraid of plague doctors during times of plague? Plague doctors were feared during times of plague because of what they looked like, and what they were known for. People feared them because they were known as death-bringers,and nightmarish bird men, believe it or not, people still fear them today, people today still find them to be creepy, but not many fear them now. This was my curiosity topic for this week, why people were so afraid of plague doctors during times of plague.

Why are creepypasta's so popular
Creepypasta, the internet version of camp fire stories that have scared, and inspired people for ages, but the real question is,why are they so popular?
First things first, what exactly are creepypasta's? Creepypasta's are internet versions of short, camp fire like stories that bring shivers down your spine, they have scared people for ages, and continue scaring today. Some of these creepypasta's are Jeff the killer, slenderman, homicidal liu, sally, clockwork,The scp foundation, ticci toby, the rake and much more. Creepypasta's are the present and future of horror stories, with movies even being made based off of some of them.
Now,what exactly makes a creepypasta popular? Let's take a creepypasta such as...The rake. The rake is the creepypasta about a strange, very light grey creature who kills a couples children deep in the night whilst in the family's home. The rake started off as a very impopular creepypasta, but soon exploded, with people copying and pasting the creepypasta around many different websites, soon fanart was made, making the rake even more popular. So, how does a creepypasta become popular, simple, through the fans copying and pasting it all over the internet. You can write your own creepypasta if you wanted, now, have a creepypasta.
