creative writing

Long claws dug into the flesh of the dragon hunter. Cries rang through the air as the half dragon let out a triumphant roar, another of many of his enemies slowly dying in a pool of blood. He slowly removed his blood soaked talons, and huffed and the now lifeless body below him.
“He’s dead, Chaos.” A deep voice erupted from the green haired man. He kicked dirt onto the body below, just enough to cover the mans face, before turning to the other half dragon.
“Whew, I could use claws like yours, Shiroi.” Chaos praised with a grin, causing the other man to simply huff.
“If you stopped chewing yours off then maybe you’d have claws like mine.” Shiroi teased, sticking out his long, blue tongue.
“It's not my fault I'm always nervous!” Chaos whined, pouting. Shiroi chuckled lowly, wrapping an arm around the blonde haired boy.
“I'm just teasing, calm down.” The green haired man assured his partner, long claws stroking fluffy blonde locks of hair. A purr erupted from the smaller boy as he leaned into the sudden touch.
“You remind me of a Cheetah, you know, ferocious around enemies, yet so submissive towards those you love.” Shiroi smirked, causing the blonde to huff and look away, in an attempt to prove the other man wrong.

The trees shook violently, flocks of birds racing through the sky, jolting the dragons from their warm embrace. Loud, bang like noises erupted through the air, causing both boys to widen their eyes.
“Gunshots.” They breathed in unison, clouds of smoke flowing out of Chaos’s nostrils. Large, pale blue wings stretched into a flight like position, before Shiroi took off through the trees, Chaos quickly following. The blonde flapped his large wings, black and bold like an eagles, in a desperate attempt to catch up to his beloved.
“Hurry it up, Chaos!” Shiroi snapped in command, his wings beating with a more furious pace.
“You know I can't fly well, Bonkotsu!” Chaos barked in response, still desperately trying to keep to the larger males pace. The gun shots suddenly grew much louder, and a deep, almost manic voice erupted through the silence, pausing the dragons in their tracks. Fear took hold of Chaos, who began to shake.
“Is it who I think it is?”
“Gravekeeper? Yep, it is.” Shiroi slowly landed, keeping as quiet as possible. Chaos eventually followed, though instead of landing normally, he instantly went low to the ground.
“Chaos you idiot, what are you doing?!”
“Keeping out of sight, you know how much trauma Gravekeeper has caused for me!”

“Unfortunately, I do.”

English-Speeches

In English, we wrote, practiced and performed speeches. My speech was an anylisation of the anime Yu-gi-oh, more specifically the character Seto Kaiba. I spoke about his past, the abuse he had to go through, and how through the influence of his rivals he changed from a heartless billionaire to a selfless duelist who is always willing to sacrifice himself when needed. I am proud of the fact that i pushed myself out of my comfort zone and performed in front of a small group, even going as far as to perform it in front of the entire class. For next time, i would change my topic and speak about a worldwide problem instead of something i am passionate about.

persuasive writing essay

Wouldn't you agree that Marriage, the act of making your relationship legal, is such a beautiful time in someone's life. There are always stories going around about marriage being the happiest time in one's life. Finally being able to tie the bond between you and your partner legally in a happy marriage, but is it truly that way for everyone? The answer is no. There are many people around the world who have to suffer knowing that same sex marriage is illegal. Now here's the real question we should be asking: Should same sex marriage truly be illegal?

Imagine you are in a happily engaged to your partner, only for your marriage to be denied and made illegal. You have to spend your days wondering and questioning why in the world people refuse you're marriage. People in same sex relationships are currently suffering this way, especially in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sudan, and many other countries around the world. We are all human, and those in same sex relationships being denied marriage by government is the same as those in heterosexual relationships being denied marriage. Being denied same sex marriage is highly homophobic and greatly offensive to the LGBT+ community. Being a member of the LGBT+ community myself, I find illegal same sex marriage rather...bizarre. Why are people controlling who we can and can't marry?

While some ache to disagree, Love is love, and our world is evolving. The common dilemma of ‘a man should always marry a woman’ ,especially within the Christianity community, is becoming more of an excuse than a reasoning for illegal same sex marriage. So it is time we accept it and allow people to marry who they please. While yes it can be noted that some countries reject same sex marriage for religious reasons, some people need to understand that even though some of us are in love with people of only the same gender, we are all living, breathing people who just want to find their place and be accepted.

Often times, we see stories of people celebrating their marriages, and putting it out there for everyone to see, but there's one thing in common. They are mostly heterosexual marriages. While yes, more and more people are being open about their sexuality, quite a few are still scared to come out as those just like them are being rejected and even abused for their sexuality. There are often protests and battles raged between those in the LGBT+ community and those who refuse to accept them, and to that I say grow up and learn to accept people for who they are. Marriage is supposed to be beautiful and accepted by everyone, so why should your sexuality matter as to whether you gain this happiness or not? Simple. It shouldn't. Yet people around the world are determined to make it seem like it is.

Speaking out and taking a stand is the only way be can be the change we want. Reality is--though some may disagree--same sex marriage should be a legal and celebrated act. It should not be something that people of high authority can control and have power over. Love is an uncontrollable force, so now is the time to take a stand and make marriage legal for all people of all sexualities. Let us all take a stand and give people in same sex relationships the rights they deserve!

children of blood and bone essay

In English, we read the story 'Children of blood and bone' written by Tomi Adeyemi. Once it was read, we were tasked to write an essay describing the book. We got to choose to write about the characters, the ideas and themes, or writing techniques used in the story. I selected to write about 3 writing techniques used, as I knew it would be the most challenging of the 3, and I was ready to take the risk:

Children of blood and bone by Tomi Adeyemi is the first book in a three part series that tells the tale of Zelie Adeboia. Within her written words, Adeyemi was used many methods and techniques to engage her readers into every battle, every betrayal, and every blood curdling romance that challenges the protagonists race against time to restore magic to the Maji of Orisha.

Her possibly most powerful method of writing is her point of view words of each chapter. Each word is spoken by a character in the story, as though they themselves are telling us their story. Within each chapter we see an insight of the thoughts and feelings of either Zelie, Amari, Inan, or Tzain. This technique is both useful and powerful as it gives us a clear look into the character’s thoughts, opinion, and reasoning behind their actions. Point of view writing is a method of writing as it helps the reader understand the characters within the story better than when they write in third person. In my opinion, point of view writing is a technique that everybody should learn, as it can help them truly understand how to write deep, meaningful stories.

Another technique Adeyemi uses is the detail she puts into each chapter. Detail in a story is the difference between a good, powerful story or a dull, not interesting one. Adeyemi uses just the right amount of detail to describe each character, location, problem, and action. This technique helps gain the reader's attention, and urges them to continue reading to see what happens next. Detail in a story helps a person understand the designs of the characters, places, and describes the intensity of each battle and betrayal. Within our story, Zelie describes to us just how heart shattering watching her mother hang from a tree has, keeping in mind at the time that event occurred she has just a child. She also describes mainly at the start how much of a screw up she sees herself as, even going as far to state that she has not worthy of bringing magic back to Orisha, despite being chosen by the gods. I think that the detail Adeyemi put into children of blood and bone has one of the things that grasped me into the story and allowed me to want to keep reading onward.

The third and final technique used that helped tie Adeyemi’s story together was her use of metaphors. The use of metaphors helped Adeyemi to state just how deep certain parts of the story where. Adeyemi uses quite a few metaphors within her story, and it helps the reader to understand certain aspects of her story. Metaphors are a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to something that is not actually there, or not actually applicable. Metaphors are very useful in story writing, as it can describe a certain aspect better than using a normal writing style can. An example of a metaphor is “The dark curtain of night feel upon us.” Adeyemi mainly uses metaphors in her chapters in which it is in Zelie’s point of view, as Zelie is the character who's opinion, thoughts and feelings we need to understand the most, as she is the protagonist of the story. The metaphors are mainly used to describe traumatic events in Zelie’s past, or describe the feeling of her being in the dreamspace with Inan, who was supposed to be her enemy, but became her lover. The use of metaphors is also a powerful technique to uphold and use, as it can be a very effective method when describing certain events or characters.

Children of blood and bone uses many techniques to intrigue the reader into reading it. Metaphors, Detail, and Point of view writing are just 3 of the techniques Adeyemi uses to make her story the best she possibly can, and it shows that she tried her best. In my opinion, Children of blood and bone is an amazing story that fans of fantasy, forbidden love and magic will enjoy. It is clearly shown just how much detail and thought she put into children of blood and bone, and I am excited to read the other 2 books in the series.

Supergirl

Image result for supergirl

A message from Supergirl, welcome to earth is do not judge a person by their background, or where they come from. This is because if we judge someone by their background, we easily get mislead, and make the wrong assumptions about a person. We saw this in the scene where Supergirl captured the daxamite Mo-El, where he was accused of an assassination attempt on the president, just because he was from Daxam, this was later proven to be false. I think it is important to get to know a person before judging them, because that way, we can understand their situation, and if they are truly like the rest of their people. It makes me think about how misjudged people are in the real world, especially immigrants, and foreigners. In an ideal world, nobody is judged, people get to know others before they are judged, and people get along better than people currently do.

two worlds, one family.

what does 'two worlds, one family' mean? To me, it means that no matter where you go, even if it is another city, or another country, you will always belong to one family, no matter what. Everyone belongs to one family, even if said family is not biological, and nobody can change that fact. So embrace those who you truly belong with, and do not let anyone try and change that.

Two messages from the movie 'Tarzan':

A message from the movie Tarzan is that there is more than one way of life, understand it before truly judging it. This is because the understanding of the ways different people [in this case, animals] live, and the changes they face as they are faced with an ‘assassination attempt’. I saw this in the scene where Clayton is first seen in the forest, with Jane and her father, and Clayton is shooting down all animals he sees, without trying to understand them. This is also shown in the scene where Kerchak first meets Tarzan, whilst Tarzan is a young baby, Kerchak says ‘he doesn’t belong, all because of his lack of hair/fur’, although that is later proven to be false. It makes me think about how much people are misjudged in the real world, especially those who are Indian/ pakistani/ Asian, etc. Society is well known for judging those who don't look like them, even though we are all of the same species, people refuse to understand different cultures, and push those that are not like them aside to rot. In an ideal world, everybody gets along, both humans and animals, people of different cultures are living in harmony, judgement is a lot less than it is today, and even though we are of different cultures, we are all the same.

A message from the movie Tarzan is that you can be apart of many different cultures, but you belong to one true family. This is because of the life of Tarzan, how he is human, but his one true family is with the Gorillas. I saw this throughout the entire movie, were Tarzan starts of as a human child, living with people, that is until they are killed. He is adopted by Kala, a Gorilla who had recently before lost her son. Tarzan thrives to be one with the Gorillas, but when he meets Jane, her father, and Clayton, he begins to become one with their culture, all while still staying to the fact that his one true home is with the Gorillas in the forest. It makes me think about how people are discouraged into staying with a certain culture, becoming one of them, when people have a true family to look after, even if it isn't biological.
