Aim: To demonstrate the effects of anaerobic respiration {muscle fatigue}
Hypothesis: I think that after a while, the muscles will begin to grow tired and sore.
Equipment: A spring-loaded clothes peg
Method:
1:hold the clothes peg between your thumb and forefinger
2:relax your fingers so that the peg closes all the way
3:squeeze your thumb and forefinger so the peg is fully open.
4: repeat steps 2 and 3 as fast as possible until you experience muscle fatigue.
results: I was able to keep going for 1 minute 17 seconds before my fingers began to experience fatigue.
conclusion: My hypothesis was right, after a while, my fingers did experience fatigue.
discussion: I do not think there is anything different i should have done, for i followed the instructions, and got the results that were relevant to the experiment.

slave trade triangle
Slave Trade Triangle Map
The slave trade triangle, also known as the Atlantic slave trade, is a pathway, like a triangle, that Europeans took when they traded with Africans, took African slaves to America, and produced Cotton and Tobacco, etc, that the slaves picked. The slave trade occurred from 1600- 1865, and was set up to trade guns for slaves.
the first passage: The first passage was from Europe to Africa. This passage consisted of large ships travelling to Africa. On board these ships were cargo, consisting of Guns and other European weapons.
The Middle Passage: This was the passage where the trade happened. Africans were taken to the Caribbean and sold off to buyers, to be made into slaves. They were bartered for ship loads of Tobacco and Cotton. Whilst on the ships, Slaves were made to dance, to be humiliated. If you tried to rebel and escape, you were thrown overboard and killed. Slaves who did not obey what they were told to were tortured and whipped. The whips had one or multiple tips, and the slaves were whipped to the point of the skin on their back opening, then salt was rubbed into the wound. The same thing happened once in america. The first slaves into USA were taken into Charleston, they were cleaned, and dressed, then sold at auctions.
the third passage: In the third passage, materials like cotton and tobacco that the slaves picked were put onto ships, and shipped off to Europe, and the entire cycle began one again.
This cycle lasted 265 years, but today, there are more slaves than there were during the slave trade triangle, despite the fact that in many countries, slavery is illegal. The most interesting thing i discovered during this topic was honestly the ways these slaves were tortured, on the ships, and during their time as a slave. Yes, it was absolutely cruel, but the topic in general is interesting to learn about, although it disgusts me to think that people believe that this sort of thing is okay, when it clearly is not. Why did i find this certain element interesting? Well, to be quite frank, it was because of the methods of torture. I found them to be very interesting, and cruel.

two worlds, one family.
what does 'two worlds, one family' mean? To me, it means that no matter where you go, even if it is another city, or another country, you will always belong to one family, no matter what. Everyone belongs to one family, even if said family is not biological, and nobody can change that fact. So embrace those who you truly belong with, and do not let anyone try and change that.
Two messages from the movie 'Tarzan':
A message from the movie Tarzan is that there is more than one way of life, understand it before truly judging it. This is because the understanding of the ways different people [in this case, animals] live, and the changes they face as they are faced with an ‘assassination attempt’. I saw this in the scene where Clayton is first seen in the forest, with Jane and her father, and Clayton is shooting down all animals he sees, without trying to understand them. This is also shown in the scene where Kerchak first meets Tarzan, whilst Tarzan is a young baby, Kerchak says ‘he doesn’t belong, all because of his lack of hair/fur’, although that is later proven to be false. It makes me think about how much people are misjudged in the real world, especially those who are Indian/ pakistani/ Asian, etc. Society is well known for judging those who don't look like them, even though we are all of the same species, people refuse to understand different cultures, and push those that are not like them aside to rot. In an ideal world, everybody gets along, both humans and animals, people of different cultures are living in harmony, judgement is a lot less than it is today, and even though we are of different cultures, we are all the same.
A message from the movie Tarzan is that you can be apart of many different cultures, but you belong to one true family. This is because of the life of Tarzan, how he is human, but his one true family is with the Gorillas. I saw this throughout the entire movie, were Tarzan starts of as a human child, living with people, that is until they are killed. He is adopted by Kala, a Gorilla who had recently before lost her son. Tarzan thrives to be one with the Gorillas, but when he meets Jane, her father, and Clayton, he begins to become one with their culture, all while still staying to the fact that his one true home is with the Gorillas in the forest. It makes me think about how people are discouraged into staying with a certain culture, becoming one of them, when people have a true family to look after, even if it isn't biological.

How well do you think this work was done? Not that well,as the group hardly worked together.
What was the best part of the work? The information.
Where did you go wrong in completing this assessment? Not doing enough research
How might you improve your outcome in the future? Be in a different group
What did you find interesting? How many different types there were
What did you struggle with? Information

bugsy malone, but with less cream and more entertainment
the 1920's was a glorious year time, and it is also the setting of our musical theatre performance, bugsy malone. before i go on to who exactly i am, lets see why the 1920's was so great.
what were the buildings like? some of the buildings, like houses, were quite simple, where as other were tall and fancy, like apartment buildings.

what was fashion like?
males- men typically wore fancy tuxedos, and wore little to no make up.

females- females wore mainly dresses or fancy tops, accompanied by long skirts.

the female makeup consisted of quite rosy cheeks, big, red lips and dark eye shadow.

what was home life like?
females- girls were typically, teachers, librarians, nurses, and were more the cooks and the cleaners of the house.
males- males were 'king of the castle', he was more in charge of the house, and they had more 'commercial jobs', such as directors, wheat farm labourers, and telephone operators.
what was entertainment like?
plenty of olden day singing and dancing, that's for sure. movies were silent in the 1920's, but luckily radios weren't.
now, onto my character.
I was gifted the part of Leroy Smith, a kind boxer, who at first was hesitant to be a boxer, but ended up being a heavyweight champ. I was then asked to create a 'bio' of sorts for my character, so here's mine:
full name: Leroy Smith
Age: around 18-20
Place Of Birth: New York
most common emotion (state of mind): cheerful
physical characteristics (movements, stance, gestures, etc): has a confident posture, although he moves cautiously. His gestures are kind, and he never dares give off a bad or offensive gesture.
strengths: mainly his fists, and his boxing.
weaknesses: he has a strong weakness to bribing, and always gives in to it
fears: he has a fear of gangs, and does everything to avoid them
secrets: he doesn't really have any secrets, as he is quite open about everything
their childhood/upbringing: he was born into a poor family, and quickly became a down and out, but after become quite separated by them, he left the down and outs and became a loner.
who are their important relationships:
-bugsy, Leroy saves Bugsy from the down and outs, and Bugsy convinces him to be a boxer. Bugsy helps Leroy become a boxer, and in return Leroy helps Bugsy save fat sams.
-cagey joe, Cagey Joe is Leroy's boxing coach
appearance:
(he is the male on the left)

a sockdollager.....a what? A sockdollager, thats what!
our next task was to learn some New York slang, and write a conversation our character might have with someone else in the cast (ill be using bugsy for this)
bugsy: "Wake up Dewdropper {slacker}!"
leroy: "Huh, what makes me a Dewdroper?"
Bugsy: "I was just kidding, you're Jake!" {fine}
Leroy: "Whew, I thought you hated me for a second."
Bugsy: "anyway, I got a sinker {doughnut} for ya."
Leroy: "Gee, thanks."
Bugsy, "See that stand over there?"
leroy: "yeah."
Bugsy: "Lets blouse!" {lets destroy that popsicle stand}
leroy: "wha- okay, i guess."
reflection of what ive actually done.
So far, ive completely leant my lines, and my main dance, 'so you wanna be a boxer'. We have also learnt how everything is going to go, and had a complete run through of it. I think we need to work on timing more, and cues, as alot of us missed our cues {me included}. Overall, musical theatre so far has been alot of fun, and i cant wait for what is to come in our journey, although we have little time left to complete it.

have a merry kitty christmas
They were ornaments, but not to the eyes of 'the beast', to him, they were human, and ready to be destroyed. His paws thundered across the ground, shaking the tiny town. He let out a mighty roar, and paused right in front of the town, eyes fixated on the criminal himself, Santa Clause. The beast, known only as Kemono, glared at him with unusually round, wide eyes. Thoughts flashed through Kemono's mind, he know what he was to do was irreversible, but it had to be done, he not only stole master's attention, but he also took away his precious milk, his favourite thing in the castle. Yes, Kemono was a cat, he was a Russian blue x Persian, and was a very feisty young man.
He glared at the still thing, letting out another might roar, which just happened to be a small mew, before swatting at the houses with his front paw. Raising the other paw, claws unsheathed, he swatted at the still Santa, breaking him instantly. "A body has been discovered!" The voice of a female called out, followed by the laugh of a male. "Oh no, we must begin the class trial." The male chuckled, a sarcastic tone to his deep voice. "Who killed Santa Clause?" The female asked sarcastically, knowing the culprit was the beast Kemono. "I don't know Hanahaki, but i have a feeling i know who it is." The male replied, looking straight at the cat, who sat there and mewed innocently. "Haha, I also think i know too." Hanahaki chuckled, picking up the fur ball. "It was Kemono!" The male announced, gasping dramatically, pretending to faint onto the small black couch.
"You are so stupid sometimes, ya know that?" Hanahaki grinned, running her hand through the males hair, causing his already rosy cheeks to be tainted red. "Tch, you don't have to tell me twice." The boy huffed, puffing up his cheeks. Kemono mewed as he lay on the males chest, licking his chin. "Well isn't that a cute, huh Tsuki?" Hanahaki laughed a little. Tsuki fixed up his jacket, which was black with a galaxy like setting on it, and looked away. "Aww, you're so cute Tsuki, I love you." Hanahaki kissed her boyfriend's forehead, grinning as she picked up Kemono and held him in her arms. "Hmph, I love you too, Hanahaki." Tsuki smiled a little. Kemono mewed once again, trying to signalise that he wanted his precious milk, now that the milk snatcher was dead. "Haha, okay Kemono, don't nag, don't nag." Hanahaki chuckled before walking into the kitchen to satisfy her little criminal.

Film studies
in English, we are learning to think critically to identify and describe the key aspects of a visual text.
we watched the movie 'hunt for the wilder people', and now we are doing our own learning on it. we were given 4 'must do' tasks, and 8 'can do' tasks, and i personally have done 2 must do tasks and 4 can do tasks. the can-do tasks include research and questions about Aunt Bella, Officer Andy, Psycho Sam, and Ricky Baker. The must-do tasks include film techniques, and one theme, the theme i chose being Symbols. The only must-do task i am yet to complete is 'critical thinking for film study', basically a bunch of questions about film study and all that, sounds simple, but it really isn't, some questions are pretty hard to answer. Once that is complete, all of 9bu, myself included, will have to write an essay, which i'm ready and prepared for. I personally have enjoyed this topic so far, and i'm ready for what will happen next in English.
